Rodney A. Brown is a 1971 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Williams College. Mr. Brown obtained a Masters of Philosophy from the University of Heidelberg in 1972, and graduated from the Cornell Law School in 1975. He is admitted to practice in New York, as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Southern and Northern Districts of New York. Additionally, Mr. Brown has been admitted pro hac vice to the United States District Court of Ohio (Southern District, Western Division), Connecticut, New Jersey, Michigan (Western District), Florida (Southern District), along with the United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the Second, Third, Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Circuits. Mr. Brown is also a member of the U.S. Tax Court and the U.S. Court of International Trade.

Mr. Brown began his career in the New York District Attorney's Office as a member of District Attorney Robert Morgenthau's first class in 1975. Mr. Brown tried over 20 criminal cases before leaving to pursue a career in civil practice.

Mr. Brown specializes in litigating commercial and business litigations in federal and state courts, as well as before various arbitration tribunals, including the American Arbitration Association. Mr. Brown has tried over 50 civil cases.

Mr. Brown has litigated cases involving counterfeiting and trademark infringement, and has participated in an extensive number of cases involving trade diversion, trademark infringement, lender liability, patent infringement, tax issues, talent management agency disputes, real estate and landlord-tenant disputes, bankruptcy adversary proceedings and securities fraud. In addition, Mr. Brown has litigated attorney malpractice cases and administrative proceedings before various governmental agencies.

In 2010, Mr. Brown was recognized as one of the Top Lawyers in Business Litigation in the New York Metro area by Super Lawyers magazine.
